Information to help you and your church direct vulnerable people to the support they need in the city.

Rough sleepers

Who to contact if you find someone sleeping on the street.

8.30 to 5pm -  Normal Working Hours

Contact 0191 5205551 and CSN will take initial details and book an appointment same day with our Housing Options Team. If they present late in day, the applicant will still be seen but we just look to secure them accommodation and follow up  with a fuller assessment the following working day.

5pm Onwards – Out of Hours

You can contact the same number 0191 5205551  and the call will be picked up by our out of hours team . There is also a  message on the main council switchboard to redirect people to this number if they have nowhere to sleep for the night .
