Advance groups are monthly mentoring groups designed to stir and develop the gift of the evangelist by encouraging, equipping and empowering evangelists.
Whether you are working in full-time ministry as an evangelist or are someone who is developing passion about sharing Jesus in everyday opportunities, Advance Groups will help you take the gospel into the world you live in.
In February 2021 we hosted 2 Q&A nights for Churches to find out more, we then launched our first Advance Sunderland group on 29th April 2021. To join the group register www.connectnetwork.uk/events
HOW GROUPS WORK
1. Regular meeting
Monthly meetings that are treated as important diary commitments, ensuring that we take seriously the preparing of ourselves and each other for evangelism
A commitment to studying the bible for a deeper knowledge of the gospel takes up a significant part of the session time each month, including opportunities for healthy dialogue around our understanding of the gospel and how to faithfully evangelise.
Honest self-evaluation via feedback questionnaires and open sharing within the group time is designed to help us live holy lives as we attempt to be faithful to living and sharing the gospel.
Keeping each other up to date with prayer requests, opportunities, stories of fruit and encouragement via online group messaging ensures that we are able support each other beyond group sessions as we seek to take the good news to the world.
A commitment to explore the idea of multiplication with a view to group members taking on their own group (whilst continuing on in the original group) within 12-18 months of joining. Not all who are in a group will start their own but many will, ensuring that the equipping, empowering and encouraging of those committed to evangelism will increase.
